The dating fortunes or difficulties of a black women – or more accurately dark-skinned black women are covered here in this BBC short article with videos:

For me it’s a must watch and something I believe we need to speak about: the big question of ‘why do black women and dark-skinned black women’ still have a difficult time in this day and age?

Dating is an area where black women and particularly those with darker skin, have a different experience when compared to light-skinned black women and women of other races.

Colourism, shadism or just stupid?

Some call it colourism or shadism – and we know it’s the stupid assumption that judges black people based on the shade of their skin. Whether it’s online dating where your profile doesn’t receive many clicks or feeling like you’re invisible when out with a group of white or light-skinned women, things have not got any easier for dark-skinned black women dating in the western world.

The BBC Series – Colourism and Black Love

This series is taking an in-depth look at this subject and hearing women speak about their experiences will resonate with us and open the ‘eyes’ of any who haven’t been through this.
