Are you stuck in the same place?

Over a year ago I was reading the book of Deuteronomy (Bible) and I came across these verses when God spoke to Moses saying:
- “The Lord our God said to us in Horeb, you have dwelt long enough on this mountain” – Deuteronomy 1:6 (Amplified version)
- “You have roamed around this mountain country long enough; turn northward” – Deuteronomy 2:3 (Amplified version)
It made me think about all the times I’ve stayed in jobs for too long, dated the wrong people or even held onto the negative thoughts for too long! I concluded that any bad relationships, poor eating habits or anything that has a negative impact on our lives can been seen as these ‘mountains’ that we have been around for too long.
What’s your mountain?
So what’s your mountain? How long have you walked around it? Or clung onto the poor habits, the friendships that deplete you? Even when it’s doing you no good?
Yes to let go of that mountain you need the next (positive thing) to move onto – often to hold onto. That starts with your faith and your language. As I wrote in a previous Blog that remembering that Christ came that you may have life more abundantly
Start a new journey
So, when you have thought about and identified your mountains and why you’ve stayed around them so long, you can start a new journey. This might not be taking ‘physical’ steps; emotional and mental journeys will play a big part in whatever you are doing here. Start your journey with small steps (if that works). But taking even the smallest steps is the means you can start moving away from those mountain of distraction and pain.
