I recently created a start-up and side hustle space for Black women to have their businesses listed. While I’ve been building this online platform – Afrowoman Online and the digital community, it helps to be connected to like-minded women. Whether it’s the women I chat with on social media or the professional women who advise me. I have found these women to be supportive. They give advise, support and at times a word of encouragement. These relationships are truly priceless.

Start-up & side hustle in our DNA

From our fore-mothers who sold their fruit or vegetables. Or our mother who braided hair in her living room, starting a business is not something new to us Black women. Those of us who’ve worked in a mainstream careers or corporate environments, know that our side hustle is sometimes the only way to use our talents. It’s in our own business we create products or make decisions on marketing products. We manage our time and the partnerships which are good for your business. So this is what this space is for – for Black women to see the businesses they might want to buy from or partner with.

Support in difficult times

The current world situation is challenging time for everyone. The struggles in the economy, uncertainty over what may happen to our jobs and money has increased fear. Lack of security has added to this worry. There is no better time than now to support each other in any way we can.

Get your listing on the connection space

The Black women and their start-ups are listed by category, brief description and contact details. So this will make it easy for you to find and contact them. If you’d like to be listed send a message via the contact form here saying – “I’d like to be added to the Connection Space”. Please add your company name, brief description about your product or service and contact details, e.g. email address or social media handle. I look forward to see you in the Connection Space soon 🙂
