Hello Ladies – Hope you’re doing ok. I recently decided to try something new – Pomegranate! I know this probably isn’t a big deal for other people but I realised I’ve been stuck in a ‘fruit rut’ and needed something new ha ha

But seriously, I kept on reading about how good Pomegranates are for our overall health and especially for women’s hormones too. So, I had to investigate. Yes I admit I’ve been converted to the Pomegranate Party!

The beautiful ruby coloured jeweled seeds are sweet enough to please your taste buds but not taste like pure sugar! You can add them to smoothies, yogurt or even to savoury dishes like salads or roasted chicken. The juice is also very refreshing. You can save it to drink separately or add to other juices or smoothies.

Yes it’s not the easiest fruit to ‘peel’ – so excuse me while I make a mess ha ha

Vitamin boost

More importantly, what about the health benefits of Pomegranates? Well, the list is endless and health advocates talk about the following:

  • High in vitamin C
  • Antioxidants – vitamins A and E
  • Iron
  • other antioxidants
  • Helping to protect against heart disease and high blood pressure

Pomegranate supporting women’s hormones

For us women, eating pomegranates can also support our hormonal health by helping with our menstrual health, PMS symptoms and menopausal symptoms. There still needs to be more studies on this topic. But it’s ‘suspected’ that the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant nature of pomegranates is what really can help us; especially when our hormones are going up and down!
